I was born in Tel Aviv, Pesach, 1944.  At age 12, I sang solo parts in the school choir. During that same year, I began singing on the High Holidays in the Gvurat Yisrael Synagogue (Tel Aviv) choir directed by my uncle, the well-known Tel Aviv cantor, Benjamin Ungar (of blessed memory)

In 1970, I learned the High Holiday liturgical melodies (Nusach) of the renowned liturgist, Rabbi Zalman Pollack. Those melodies serve as the foundation of my liturgical style as a prayer leader and cantor to this day...(suite)
